No Mind Left Behind: World Mental Health Day
19/09/2024
Manchester Mind is proud to be part of the Mind family, who are working alongside other local Minds and national Mind this World Mental Health Day on their campaign #NoMindLeftBehind
We’re in the middle of a mental health crisis. 2 million people are currently stuck on waiting lists for NHS mental health services. Behind the overwhelming numbers are real people – they’re being left behind by a broken mental health system. Many will reach crisis point; in a recent survey of 500 people, more than three quarters of those waiting for treatment were forced to seek help from emergency services or a crisis line in the absence of mental health support.
We know that alongside those on waiting lists there are millions more who have felt unable to reach out for the help they need for fear of being judged or not taken seriously. And even those who have reached out for help are often told that they don’t meet the criteria for certain types of support.
People need support now, not in 6 months’ time or a year. That’s why, for World Mental Health Day 2024, we’re asking you to join us. To help raise awareness and vital funds for a future where we can all get quality mental health care when we need it – so that no mind is left behind.
Share Mind’s campaign on social media throughout the week. And encourage your friends and family to do the same.
Donate today or take part in a fundraising event so Manchester Mind can continue to provide vital mental health services to those who need them.
With your support, we can build a future where no mind is left behind.
