Mental Health Support Sessions

advice drop-in

“I just hope more people can take that first step, because it has really helped me….”

Sometimes, it helps to meet in person to explore what support you might need. If that feels right for you, then we can invite you to our support sessions, where you can learn about the support that might be available for your mental health.

Our team of staff and trained volunteers will listen and can make referrals for you, or introduce you to services, groups and helpful organisations. You can attend these sessions for up to 3 weeks, so we can give you time and space to get to know us, to build trust and to consider your options and choices. You can also speak to an advice worker during the session if you are having difficulties with your benefits, debts and housing, but this is up to you.

We try to provide a safe and welcoming space so you will be offered a drink and a bite to eat or a snack. You may also like to try some of our wellbeing activities that are always on offer – such as gentle arts and crafts. There is also the opportunity to connect with other people who are also struggling, and build community and reduce any isolation you may be experiencing.

These sessions are available to you if you are over 18 and living in Manchester.

We can support you to explore:

  • Your emotional and mental health needs such as loneliness, worry and low mood
  • Your experiences living with a diagnosed mental health condition such as depression, anxiety or bipolar disorder
  • Feelings of isolation and wanting to get out and meet new people
  • Financial struggles and difficulties making ends meet
  • Insecure housing situations or difficulties accessing food
  • A lack of confidence and wanting to learn new skills

Here is our welcome pack so you can learn more about the sessions.

You can sign up to our sessions for yourself or on behalf of other people you may be supporting. The space is open every Monday. At the moment we are asking people to book a time to come in, but all you need to do is contact us as detailed below and you will hear from us within 2 days to arrange a session. We will be able to see you in session the following week.
