Becoming a new Mum is a life changing experience for all women.

For many women being a new mum can be a difficult, exhausting, lonely and stressful experience.

If you are a mum, living in Manchester aged 18 years or over with a child under 2, struggling with mild to moderate mental health conditions or feeling overwhelmed or lonely and you would like to have honest conversations about your motherhood, whilst learning tools to support your wellbeing, then please read on to find out how Mums Matter can support your journey.

… it’s so great to have some time every week dedicated to yourself and your wellbeing – the people have been amazing and I’ve learnt so much. I feel I’ve really had a chance to work on the things that were stressing me out. It’s deffo the start of a journey but I’m so glad i made time for it and prioritised myself!”

Mums Matter is a course, developed by Mums for Mums. Over the time we are together you will be offered a range of tools, such as breathing practices, mindfulness and meditation develop your own practice to support yourself in your new role as a Mother. Space to share and connection to other Mums is a vital part of the course and there is also an unstructured session at the end where you will be able to decide as a group, how to strengthen your connection as a Mums Matter support group.

A separate additional session has also been designed for you and the person/people who support you so they can learn how to continue to help and access support themselves. This session has been developed in conjunction with Dad Matters.

“Really lovely space to learn techniques to keep my cool – but better than that, a great space to connect with others.”
