Gardening Sessions

Iffat at the allotment

“Outdoors socialising has helped shift some of the darkness I feel daily”

Spending time outside and enjoying nature is really good for your mental and physical health. Our supported gardening sessions are a fun way to meet new people and learn some new skills. People tell us that they feel less isolated and that their confidence grows after taking part.

The sessions are ideal for you if you need a bit of extra help recovering after a period of poor mental health, crisis or difficulty. They are also good if you want to boost your wellbeing and to get outside in the fresh air in a safe and supportive setting. Gardening is proven to help with insomnia, anxiety, loneliness, low mood and stress related illnesses.

We want to ensure that our garden is accessible to those people who need it most and an inclusive and welcoming space for all those with a Manchester postcode.

We have also partnered with the Ethnic Health Forum and Safety 4 Sisters hoping to support people from communities that experience racial inequality to take part.

If you, or someone you are working with, is from a racialised community and usually struggle to access safe green space, please get in touch and we can invite you to our sessions.

The sessions are led by allotment support workers and volunteers and we run them daily (Monday-Friday). We will send you detailed information before your first visit, so you know what to expect.

Please book your place by completing an online referral form:
