Do One Thing: Giles

Staff member Giles' smiling photo

I’m Giles, Advice Manager here at Manchester Mind.

My “Do One Thing” for World Mental Health Day on Sunday 10 Oct is something we can all do – talk and listen.

I’m going to phone a friend who’s going through a very difficult time at the moment. We’ll probably just talk about ordinary things and shared interests, but if it turns out that that want to talk about their struggles, I’ll listen, and, at the end, I’ll remind them that they’ll be on my mind, and I’ll be available if they want to vent.

We are marking the event by encouraging you to “Do One Thing” to support your own mental health and for the mental health of those around us. Read through some of our suggested things and don’t forget to share your #DoOneThing with us if you can.
