We are Manchester Mind
Our purpose is to create a space where mental health comes first.
We believe that everyone deserves to be supported in their mental health needs and that we have a part to play in that.
We value the commitment of our staff and volunteers who work hard to ensure our services are delivered in a way that enables people to feel heard and involved.
We know Manchester well
We have been delivering services in the city since 1989 (previously as HARP), initially focusing on people living in Hulme, but over the years we have extended our services to meet the needs of people citywide. In 2011, we became one of over 100 Local Mind Associations, as we affiliated to national Mind.
Despite this, we remain an independent charity, governed by our own trustees.
You can find out more about how HARP was set up by reading our story. You can also find out more about Manchester Mind by looking through our history as told through a collection of objects specially selected by our staff to mark our 30th anniversary.
We now deliver a wide range of services to support people’s mental health and last year over 6,500 people received support, information and/or training from Manchester Mind.
