Listening Ear

person looking at mobile phone

Our listening ear service offers a weekly emotional support telephone call. It can help if you want time and space to share your thoughts, feelings and experiences and need someone there who will listen.

Having someone to talk to about the things that might be causing you stress or worry can help you to clarify your thoughts. It can feel better to get things off your chest. All calls are confidential and our team will listen without judgement.

“It helped, I felt like my listener understood and could relate to some of the things I was saying, making me feel like I was less alone”

Calls are with a member of our staff team or a trained volunteer and are available between Monday – Friday 9am-5pm. We can offer up to 6 calls.

If you think this is something you would be interested in, you can contact us via on 0161 769 5732 (Monday-Friday 10am-3pm) and speak to a member of staff about accessing Listening Ear, or you can email [email protected] and someone will get back to you.

This Service is open to adults (18+) living in areas under Manchester City Council.

“I also managed to put some things into perspective and work on certain thought patterns and behaviours of mine”

For young people under 18 please see our Children and Young People’s services page.
