We believe in the potential of every individual. We believe no one should live in poverty. We believe in the power of effective information and advice.
Our partnership project recruits and trains advice volunteers centrally and then supports them in ways that enable them to develop. This collaboration of Manchester Mind, Cheetham Hill Advice Centre, Greater Manchester Immigration Aid Unit, Manchester Refugee Support Network and Centre-Point YPSF is also increasing our respective capacities to meet the advice needs of our communities. We all share our talents and skills and the responsibility for this exciting project for which Manchester Mind serves as lead and accountable body. We approach our work in a way that is shaped and guided by our core values of Collaborative Communities, Sharing and Trust
We are seeking people who care about social justice and collaboration to come and work with us. There are two roles: PART TIME (£13,834pa | 17.5 hours per week) | FULL TIME (£27,668pa | 35 hours per week)
The skills and knowledge that are important to us are Supporting Volunteer Development, Collaboration and Advice in areas of Social Welfare Law (welfare rights, debt, housing).
The part-time role is working with people who volunteer with Manchester Mind and the full-time role is a new position supporting volunteers in Manchester City Council’s Homelessness Contact Centre. If you are interested in either of these roles, please download an application pack opposite. The deadline for application submissions is 12noon, Friday 8th September.
Manchester Mind is striving to be an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all sections of the community. Manchester Mind sees it as a positive advantage if you have experience of mental health issues and/or have used mental health services or had experience of volunteering.
